By combining Hydrolene® PVOH films and Hydrokol® adhesives with paper, Ecopol creates functional packaging structures designed to protect products and enhance sustainability. Hydrolene® films provide excellent oxygen, oil and grease barrier properties, while moisture protection is addressed through the overall packaging structure. Depending on the application, film, paper and adhesive and complementary coatings can be combined to achieve the required balance of performance, efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Ecopol’s functional packaging technology combines barrier performance with a design that supports paper recycling. During repulping, the PVOH functional layer dissolves instead of remaining as a solid plastic layer, supporting fibre recovery and reducing rejects.

Recyclability can be assesse through recognised paper-recycling testing methods, including CEPI/4evergreen and Aticelca. Packaging structures incorporating our film have achieved CEPI/4evergreen scores of up to 98/100, confirming their strong recycling performance.

Compatible with standard converting and packaging operations, the Ecopol system helps brands address evolving circular economy requirements without compromising product protection.
